Kiwof cat dewormer from Savavet is suitable for cats and kittens. Kills and expels all kinds of intestinal worms in cats like hookworm, roundworm, whipworm, tapeworm, etc. Contains praziquantel and pyrantel embonate. Safe single-dose use, broad spectrum activity.
Kiwof cat tablets have two active ingredients having different modes of action and spectra of activity. Praziquantel is active against cestodes (tapeworms). Praziquantel is absorbed, metabolized in the liver and excreted in the bile. After entering in the digestive tract from the bile, cestocidal activity is exhibited. After getting exposure to praziquantel, the tapeworm loses its ability to resist digestion by the mammalian host. Because of this, whole tapeworms, including the scolices, are very rarely passed after administration of praziquantel. It is observed that in many instances only disintegrated and partially digested pieces of tapeworms will be seen in the stool. That’s why the majorities of tapeworms are digested and are not found in the faeces.
Pyrantel pamoate is active against hookworms and ascarids. It acts on the cholinergic receptors of the nematode resulting in spastic paralysis. Peristaltic action of the intestinal tract then eliminates the parasite.
